FA final proposal - Grassroots football.
The FA have puplished their final proposals onm changing the game. See:

Changes will be Compulsory from 2013... for existing age groups (what I need to tell my managers) this will mean:
Current under 6s or younger
- You will play non competitive football until under 12s
- You will play non competitive 5-a-side at under 7s and 8s
- You will play non competitive 7-a-side at under 9s and 10s
- You will play non competitive 9-a-side at under 11s
- You will competitive 9-a-side at under 12s
- 11-a-side competitive from under 13s.
Current under 7s
- You will play non competitive football until under 11s
- You will play 9-a-side at under 11s and under 12.
- 11-a-side competitive from under 13s.
Current under 8s
- You will play non competitive football until under 8s
- 7-a-side until under 10s
- You will play 9-a-side at under 11s and under 12.
- 11-a-side competitive from under 13s.
Current under 9s
- You will play competitive.
- You will play 9-a-side at under 11s and under 12.
- 11-a-side competitive from under 13s.
Current under 10s or older.
- No changes - 11-a-side competitive from under 11s.
- 9-a-side football is an option.
Leagues will have the option to introduce these changes from September 2012.
